Feasibility and Survey

Are your proposals viable? I can carry out measured surveys and prepare accurate scale drawings as a basis for producing sketch designs for evaluating different options and discussing with you before developing the design in more detail.

Planning Applications

Do you need planning consent? I will create a bespoke design that best meets your specific requirements and prepare scale drawings and reports required for the submission of a planning application. I will complete forms and submit the application to the Local Authority on your behalf. Where necessary, I can also help with the appointment of other consultants to prepare specialist design elements or reports.

Building Warrant

Almost all projects in Scotland require building warrant approval. I can prepare drawings to meet current regulations and submit them for approval.

Project Management and Construction

I can advise on suitable construction methods, produce construction drawings and contract documents for pricing, monitor progress on site, inspect construction work and issue architect's certificates.

Areas Covered

I am now based in Kirkcudbright and undertake work mostly in the Kirkcudbrightshire and Castle Douglas areas but I would consider undertaking projects further afield.

Fees

My fees are determined on a project by project basis depending on the degree of complexity and the amount of time required to provide the services required. I provide a fee quotation at the outset based on an initial meeting to establish your requirements and I invoice in stages as I progress with the work. I believe my fees are reasonable and there is no VAT added to my invoices - a benefit to non-VAT-registered clients.
